Available by appointment at your camp before June 1 or after June 25 for a fee of $198 ($198 for first three hours, $66 each additional hour) if unable to attend at prescribed sites as outlined above.
Attendance Criteria:
Boat registrations must be submitted to Marine Patrol Headquarters at least two weeks prior to inspection date, allowing time to process paperwork. Marine Patrol must be notified at least one week in advance of inspection site choice, so they can schedule your visit and be sure to have your boat registration when you arrive. Note: Camps may motor to sites on inspection date even though boat is uninspected. Boats must be assembled and ready for inspection.
New Hampshire Marine Patrol Commercial Boat License Testing
In the State of New Hampshire, a person must obtain a commercial boating license to operate a commercial vessel in compliance with RSA 270-E:22-23. A person must pass an examination before a license to operate a commercial vessel can be issued. The process for getting a commercial boating license begins with submitting an application. This must be done before making an appointment to test. The application takes approximately 10-14 working days to process. License Information: The application must be completed and submitted to NH Marine Patrol, 31 Dock Rd. Gilford, NH 03249 along with a $15 fee. The application is processed at NH Marine Patrol where it is kept on file until the applicant takes the Commercial Boating Exam. There is no classroom requirement for this type of license. The exam consists of 85 multiple-choice questions, and an 80% is required to pass. Once you have successfully completed the exam, your license will be issued to you by a Marine Patrol Officer. The license is valid for five years from the date it is processed.
Attendance Criteria: Commercial Boat License applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to test date. All applications must include the licensee’s legal address – not the camp address. When renewing a boat driver's license, it has to be signed by the licensee. Marine Patrol must be notified at least one week in advance of testing site choice. Marine Patrol will no longer test attendees who they do not have scheduled. Note: two sessions will be available on Friday, June 21 & Tuesday June 25 at 8:45 am and 12:45 pm) For June 25 and July 2, priority is for re-testing those who may have failed in their first attempt. May not-re-take test within 7 days of not passing. Retest dates are listed below and are located at headquarters only.

PLEASE NOTE: Testing will be offered by appointment only. We will not reserve seats without having received a processed license application. Persons failing their first exam will be required to wait a minimum of 7 days and pay a $10.00 fee before taking a make-up exam. In the event a person fails a second time, they should successfully complete a Boating Safety Course prior to testing a third time
