About Camp Onaway
Mission: Camp Onaway provides girls the time space and guidance to develop the physical and spiritual strengths necessary to meet the challenges of today's world with honesty, sensitivity, and courage.
Onaway offers a full program of scheduled activities which include tennis, swimming, canoeing, sailing, and crew balanced with woodworking, sewing, ceramics, dance, and drama. There is a strong trip program offering backpacking and white water canoe trips.
All of this takes place in one 7 week session within a traditional structure which strives to help each girl reach her potential. Counselors are usually Onaway alumnae or other highly qualified certified young women. The ratio is 4 campers to 1 counselor. The emphasis at Onaway as it has been since 1911 is on fun, friendship, responsibility, and commitment to the community.
