There are so many fantastic options to choose from when searching through New Hampshire Camps, and regardless of what camp you choose, you can rest assured knowing that your family is participating in more than a century of summer camping tradition in this picturesque New England state. Mountains, lakes, streams, beautiful forests, stonewalls are all here waiting to greet your child alongside friendly and welcoming camp staff.
When it comes to deciding if camp is right for our children, or which camp to choose, how do we have confidence that we are making the right decision? We want our children to attend a camp so that they can experience the growth and increased sense of independence and confidence that come with meeting new people, making new friends, trying new activities, and, if we choose overnight camp, living away from home in a safe and supervised setting. But most of all, we want our children coming home telling us adventurous tales of the fun they had, talking about the great new friends they made, singing us the songs they learned and telling us all about the great counselors that mentored and guided them through their camp days.
With so many options out there; day camp, overnight camp, traditional camp, art and theater camp, sports specific camp, camp with an academic focus, just to name a few, how do we even begin to know which camp will be the perfect fit for our children?
We can start before even beginning to look at camps by having a conversation with our children about their interests and what type of activities they would like to participate in during the summer. Land sports? Water Sports? Ropes course challenges? Hiking? Dance? Theater? Arts? Computers? We can also help our children remember that summer camp can be an opportunity to try new things. Then we can start our search of New Hampshire camps based on our child’s age and interests.
I know that your family will be as satisfied with the selection, professionalism and quality of New Hampshire camps as my family has been. Summer after summer thousands of campers, including mine, return to their favorite New Hampshire camp to meet up with summer friends, experience new adventures, and enjoy a summer outdoors in a beautiful state. Choose a New Hampshire camp for your camper and s/he will come home sharing stories and thanking you for the amazing opportunity you have provided for him/her.
