Description:
Onaway offers a full program of scheduled activities which include swimming, canoeing, sailing and crew, balanced with woodworking, sewing, ceramics, dance and drama. There is excellent tennis instruction and a strong trip program offering backpacking and white water canoe trips.
All of this takes place in a 7 week session within a traditional structure which is non-competitive and strives to help each girl realize her potential. Counselors are usually alumnae or other highly qualified, certified young women. The ratio is 4 or 5 campers to 1 counselor.The emphasis at Onaway, as it has been since 1911, is on fun, friendship, responsibility and commitment to the community.
