Nestled among tall pines and hemlocks on the shore of Deering Lake, Camp Tuckernuck offers a traditional summer camp program. Activities including swimming, Camp Walt Whitman, located in the spectacular White Mountains, has been operated by the same family since 1948. Our 300-acre campsite has its own spring-fed lake, heated swimming pool, extensive sports and waterfront facilities and 11 clay tennis courts.Creative arts, dance, woodworking, gymnastics, dramatics, music, whitewater rafting, ropes adventure course, archery, street hockey, fishing, rollerblading, hiking and camping, horseback riding and special trips for each age group. Activities are taught by highly qualified coaches and specialists. Excellent instruction is stressed in all areas with different levels of play and competition available to both the non-athlete and athlete.
, sailing, kayaking, art and music, creative writing, arts and crafts, cooking, woodcrafts, theatre, archery, team sports, hiking, fishing. Adventure expeditions throughout New England and international programs are also offered.
At Tuckernuck, campers work together in small groups. They are guided by trained teachers and counselors who foster group decision-making, concern for others and an appreciation for the natural environment. Tuckernuck is the perfect setting for campers who have a sense of adventure and love exploration in the great outdoors.
